My mistake. I thought I was having a discussion with sane people.

On the positive side, you are now an official post on Love America, Hate Bush. Congratulations!

Steve,

You quote that Bush is responsible by his "you're either with us or against us" alienates our allies, which allies are alienated? I recall seeing Tony Blair of England giving the same speech and backing the need to destroy these murderers. Israel our second biggest ally is not alienated neither is Japan If you mean France, and Russia they are still trying to protect their interests and anti-Semitism of the Jews.

The last time I looked the facts about North Korea was when Ex president Bill Clinton let them do what ever they wanted to do. This is not a problem Our President George W. Bush created its one he inherited, because Clinton didn’t put stop on them. The facts are that Iran has hated the U.S. and has promised to destroy it or have you forgotten about the Iranian hostage crisis of 1979. Syria has been on the United States list of state sponsors of terrorism since its inception in 1979. Hezbollah, let me show you a little information about what the state department writes about them: "Known or suspected to be involved in numerous anti US or anti Israel terrorist attacks, including the suicide truck bombing of the US Embassy and US Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983....” Hamas was designated a terrorist organization in 1997. All these dates are pre Bush so the problems are not Anti Bush like you like to believe that they are. Iran will proceed with enrichment and so will all the other things you say will happen for the easy way is the way that you push as to give in to them because of the "innocents". It is easy to turn and run and try to hide from the facts that these people are not people but animals. They still live in tribal ways killing each other because of their tribes. We have already tried to appease the wrong side and that cost us about 20 million people world wide when we let Germany and Japan do as they pleased. Trying to be peaceful did not stop the madmen.

We learned that it is our way or the highway from the unfortunate experience of the Second World War. Israel has tried everything but hand over Israel and their heads to be massacred. They have signed Peace treaties with murderers have yanked citizens out of their houses just to appease the world and you included they are not playing into their hands now. The only way to tame a rampaging wild animal is by carrying and hitting them with a big stick or worse. Arab civilians are not innocent. The facts are that Israel bombs the site from where the Hezbollah rockets came from, through a satellite or heat tracing censor showing were the Hezbollah rockets came from. i.e. civilian homes, mosques, etc. Civilians are people that would not accept an armed group of thugs to place them in harms way by allowing rockets to be fired from there rooftops or homes. Would you allow that someone place a rocket in your house to fire into Cuba? Would you place your family in that position? Not unless you are part of the group or a member of that group.

Unfortunately I see that it’s true the Liberal Disease can take a good Jewish boy and make him into an anti-Semite.
For your statements are like those of all the anti-Semites of the world; France, Russia, Syria, Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, United Nations Spain, Cuba Venezuela, Etc. (All left inclined parties)
Even some Arab states have not been able to condemn Israel's actions as you do.

I'm so sorry! I didn't know I had anyone who cared that much about my opinions.

I've been pretty busy lately, so that's one reason I haven't been blogging much. But my opinion on the matter, and I do hope to write a column on this eventually, is that Bush foreign policy is largely responsible for the current state of affairs with Iran, Syria, N. Korea AND Israel/Hezbollah/Hamas.

Bush did not create these problems, I know. But his "you're either with us or you're against us" approach is alienating to everyone -- even our allies. Nobody likes to be told what to do by the big guy, and our enemies rebel any way they can -- just to show that they're not going to be bossed around. Iran will proceed with nuclear enrichment. N. Korea launches rockets. The Palestineans vote Hamas into power. Terrorist attacks have increased in number around the world since 9/11. And Iraq -- well, you know how that's going. Suicide bombers kill dozens every day, for pretty much no reason except Shiite/Sunni differences and a desire to say screw you to America because we invaded their country and told them what kind of goverment to have.

I'm all for democracy, but not everybody is. Imagine if the Soviet Union had invaded our country to try to install Socialism or Communism because they thought that democracy is bad. Say they even won militarily. Do you think our citizens would not try to fight back on their own any way they could?

Bush's "my way or the highway" policy is the product of a mind too simple to comprehend the delicacies of getting people to do what you want, and was bound to produce results exactly the opposite of what we wanted. I've been saying that for years.

As for Israel, I'm with the majority that says they have a right to fight back. But I also believe they're playing right into the hands of their enemies by killing Arab civilians. You can't say "But we didn't mean to!" and expect the families of the dead to say it's okay. This is going to do nothing but reinvigorate centuries-old hatreds.

Wow. I just wrote a whole blog entry without even meaning to!

What are your thoughts?

Steve,

I was wondering why you haven't written anything on the Middle Eastern War yet? I'm curious to know what your thoughts are. I've been checking out your blog on a daily basis to see if have written anything new, and nothing yet. Let me know. Thanks take care
